Generali awarded Insurance Asia Awards 2021

Generali is proud to be awarded the “New Insurance Product of the Year – Hong Kong” at the Insurance Asia Awards 2021 with LionGuardian Beyond, our Critical Illness product.

The award winning product, LionGuardian Beyond, is the latest in our series of critical illness plans distinguished by being the only in the market1 with unlimited claims for cancer, stroke, and heart attack. After 100% of Sum Assured has been paid out, future premiums will be waived while the protection continues until age 100. LionGuardian Beyond also has the option to accumulate benefit payouts to earn non-guaranteed interest.

Available for unborn babies from as early as 22 weeks of pregnancy, parents can opt for LionGuardian Beyond and provide their child with coverage for 100 years. To offer extra assurance, LionGuardian Beyond embeds additional benefits for the first diagnosed cancer before the age of 22, and for the first diagnosed major critical illness or death before the 10th policy anniversary.

Rebecca Tan, Chief Distribution and Marketing Officer at Generali says, “We listened to market feedback2 and found that over half of parents see “cancer” as the most important critical illness, with almost 3/4 of interviewed parents willing to purchase critical illness protection before the child is even born. With that in mind, we incorporated additional benefits for cancer and extended the coverage to unborn babies, where parents can start to protect their baby at 22 weeks of pregnancy and for 100 years. It truly is a Gift of Life.”

Now in its 6th year, the Insurance Asia Awards recognizes insurance firms in the Asia Pacific that successfully navigate around various market challenges and come up with creative insurance initiatives while delivering exceptional value to its customers.
