At Generali Hong Kong, we believe that business success goes hand in hand with social responsibility.
Through The Human Safety Net, a global initiative powered by the Generali Group, we support early childhood development by helping children aged 0 to 6 in Hong Kong unlock their potential.
We also champion diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) within our workplace and the wider community. By fostering an inclusive culture and supporting local initiatives, we aim to drive meaningful change and strengthen the community we serve.
We support early childhood development with Hong Kong’s first Community Living Room for young children in Sham Shui Po — a safe, welcoming space for vulnerable children and caregivers to play, learn, and grow together. The centre offers interactive zones, a community cafeteria, napping room, caregiver support, and more — helping families build strong bonds and a brighter future.
We believe that every child deserves enriching experiences that spark curiosity, learning and growth, regardless of their living environment. Through The Human Safety Net, we raised funds and volunteered to support over 500 underprivileged families living in subdivided flats with nature-themed activities — from eco printing to hiking — helping children explore beyond their surroundings and build a brighter future.
We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. That’s why we mobilise our colleagues each June to actively contribute to The Human Safety Net’s global fundraising challenge by raising funds and volunteering their time to support early childhood development programs in our community. With full participation from our people, demonstrating the strength of our commitment. Every step we take creates opportunities for deprived children around us to learn, grow, and thrive.
Inclusion begins with understanding. We launched a YouTube education video series, now with 5 million + views, to raise awareness of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities, covering:
- Experiences of transgender individuals in the workplace
- Protection and support needed by same-sex couples
- How to stand in solidarity with people of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities
We strive to build an inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected and supported, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or background. Our commitment has been recognised with the Inclusion Trophy at the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Workplace Inclusion Event and the ESG Award by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macao. These honours reflect our ongoing efforts to champion diversity and support our colleagues every day.
We are committed to gender equality by championing initiatives that celebrate women’s lived experiences. We celebrated women’s empowerment through active participation in the Menopause Festival, where we helped raise awareness around midlife health, and by showcasing female entrepreneurs and their businesses through our booth at the International Women’s Day pop-up market. These initiatives sparked open conversations and highlighted the contributions women make at every stage of life.
We believe that gender equality benefits everyone, creating stronger and more inclusive communities. As part of Together Week — Generali Group’s global celebration of inclusion and gender equality, we partnered with The Women’s Foundation for a panel on how gender inclusion benefits all. Colleagues, including male allies, shared how we can break gender biases and drive inclusive leadership through shared responsibility.
We believe accessibility is a right, not a privilege. That is why we proudly sponsored the Wheelchair Parade and Charity Carnival, an inspiring event that brought together over 1,000 participants to promote awareness, respect and inclusion for individuals with disabilities. Together, we are helping build a world where everyone can move forward without barriers.
